Dear  RCT

Please allow us to introduce are organization. Family Service United is a 501(c) 3 organization providing emergency shelter, transitional housing, and supportive services to homeless youth ages 12-21 in the Allegheny County and surrounding areas.  We are committed to offering services rooted in the belief that youth must have their basic needs met before they can begin to build a promising future for themselves.

For almost a decade, Family Services United  has  been there to offer safe, stable housing to these youth and provide parenting that may be absent in their own lives.  Many youth have passed through our doors who were deflected from homelessness and are now living independently.

We are confident that you will be very satisfied with the services that we will offer the community. Family Services United will create 30 plus jobs  throughout the Clairton and surrounding areas. We are currently trying to renovated the old nursing home on elm Street in Clairton purchase some vacant properties for our transitional housing and we fill as through Clairton is a strong community and we will like to grow our organization here. Clairton we ask for your support.

Homelessness is hard, no matter where you come from.  However for youth struggling to get by, lack of public transportation, stigma, and few resources deepen an already difficult situation.  Where do you go and who do you ask for help when your community doesn't recognize your struggles?

Family Services United
Sincerely,
Stephanie Hill
