Our company was established in 1991 to provide fast, honest and affordable computer sales and service to residential and business clients. Our founder started working with computers in 1978 as a hobby. In early 1984, he started a computer club in the Mon Valley for Commodore users. In 1985, he started a BBS (dialup Bulletin Board System) and authored his first published program - ClearTerm. In 1989 he started managing a computer store in Fairfax, Virginia. 2 years later, in 1991, he opened the first Hacker Shack Computers in Woodbridge, Virginia. In 1995, a second store was opened in Stafford, Virginia. With the birth of his daughter in 1999, he decided to move back to the Mon Valley and bring the business home. In 2000, the Monongahela, Pennsylvania location was established. In February 2012, we opened a second location in Wilson, Pennsylvania.
Since 2000, Hacker Shack Computers has been a member of the Monongahela Area Chamber of Commerce. We have supported many local charities and initiatives including; donating computers and services to local churches, participating in local parades (1st place float - 2006 Monongahela Halloween Parade), technician internships from Ringgold High School and ITT, donating money for Monongahela's first K9 Officer for the Police Department, donating historical artifacts to the Monongahela Historical Society and maintaining vacant property on Main Street to keep our business district looking good.
For the last 21 years, Hacker Shack Computers has provided the newest technology for our customers, both in the tools we use in our service centers and the products we offer our customers. As a Microsoft Certified Partner, we beta-test all Microsoft products before they are released to the public, ensuring we can offer the best level of support. We have over 20 years of association with our vendors, allowing us to maintain fair pricing and guaranteeing our parts are available when you need them. Our Technicians are CompTia A+ Certified and have a minimum of 10 years experience before they are allowed to work on your computer. We offer a 1 year warranty on every new product and a 30 day warranty on every refurbished product we sell. And, unlike national chains, OUR TECHNICIANS SPEAK ENGLISH!
