FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES - Dial 911 for emergencies
The Clairton Volunteer Fire Department (VFD) was formed in April of 1988 and provides fire and emergency medical services to the residents of Clairton. The VFD is an all volunteer department with a chief and 50 volunteer fireman. The station is manned 24 hours a day, seven days a week by a minimum of a driver and a firefighter. All members are trained in the Essentials of Firefighting and some members have specialty training, including Hazardous Material Response, Vehicle Rescue, Confined Space rescue, Rope Rescue, Rapid Intervention, and SCUBA diving. The VFD also ownsand operates Club 46, which is on Division Avenue. The club offers a full menu for lunch and dinner as well as entertainment and special events.
The EMS division of the VFD is a paid ambulance service with 30 part-time EMT’s and Paramedics that provide residents with service 24 hours a day, as well as 16 hours per day in the neighboring Borough of Glassport.
